A Week at The Open Data Institute: My Reflections

I was privileged to spend a week at The Open Data Institute (ODI) in London where I participated in the Open Data in Practice training program.  Throughout the past few years, I’ve been an active open data practitioner and researcher and I’ve been mainly depending on self-learning and my communications with the open data community around the world,  so I signed up for this training program  to gain deeper and wider understanding of the topic and it’s most recent development from such a leading institute.

Building up the open data community in United Arab Emirates

Last week, I had an exciting opportunity to speak to representatives of federal and local government entities across United Arab Emirates (UAE)  in a workshop on Open Government Data. The workshop was organized by Emirates eGovernment as part of the awareness activities we had during the visit of Mr. Richard Kerby – the Senior Inter-Regional eGovernment Advisor at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) to the country.

عرفت الإدارة الإلكترونيّة في تونس تطوّرا يمكن تبويبه ضمن خمسة مراحل أساسيّة، مرحلة أولى تمهيديّة تعلّقت بإدخال الإعلامية داخل الإدارة وأربعة مراحل أخرى تمّ خلالها إرساء الدعائم الأوليّة للإدارة الإلكترونيّة التي خوّلت بدورها تحقيق العديد من الإنجازات في المجال المتجسّمة أساسا في ما تمّ وضعه من خدمات عموميّة على الخط.
